I've bought the Ratel 2 for an FPV ground robot. After watching lots of reviews on Youtube, I've found out that Ratel 2 has the best combination of FOV, image quality and price. This camera sees in the dark really well, I can drive my robot at night without any lights. A setup board that is included allows to adjust a wide range of parameters, such as image aspect ratio, white balance, etc. The quality is high enough to scan QR codes with computer vision (using an OTG receiver).
The camera gets unpleasantly hot during operation, though. For prolonged ground use I'd recommend to direct a small fan at it. Most probably it's intended to be cooled by the airflow in a flying drone.
The plug was a bit larger than the one that was used with the caddx ant, so I had to take the plug off and solder direct to the board. However, it worked very well with better video quality and low light performance.
Like this camera very much. First saw it Nick Burns review. Tested comparing it to Ant and Ant lite. Ant lite have a very bad picture, could only fly inside. Ant is good camera all arround and nice image quality, but Baby Ratel 2 is best comparing weight and image quality. It is much more easy to fly outside and it more quickly adjusts to brite sun, if came from shadow. 5 stars
