About the Competition: RoboCup Rescue Robot League

The RoboCup Rescue Robot League is a globally renowned robotics competition that originated from the 1995 Kobe earthquake in Japan. Since becoming an official part of RoboCup in 2001, the league has driven significant progress in rescue robotics and autonomous search-and-rescue systems.

Teams are evaluated on their robots' adaptability, sensor fusion, real-time responsiveness, and decision-making capabilities. With over 2,000 researchers participating annually, RoboCup has become a global hub for cutting-edge robotics innovation, especially in the areas of FPV drone integration and robot-drone coordination.

Solidus Team's Breakthrough in the 2025 Season

Switzerland's Team Solidus, a rising star in the field, entered the 2025 season with tremendous momentum. After securing an impressive fourth place in their 2024 debut, their goal was clear: to challenge the top contenders and earn a spot on the global podium. To do so, they needed a technological edge that matched their ambition.

Navigating treacherous, unstable environments remotely demands flawless situational awareness. The team's custom-built Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV), "Pro.Tec," required a robotics vision system that could deliver an uninterrupted, real-time video feed with near-zero delay. This is where their strategic partnership with CADDXFPV became the game-changer. We equipped Team Solidus with our competition-grade digital FPV system. The core setup included:

  • The Walksnail Avatar HD Pro, featuring the GM3 Gimbal, providing ultra-stable, high-definition video.
  • The Goggles X FPV Headset, offering an immersive first-person view for precision piloting.

This high-performance FPV solution for robotics provided crystal-clear visuals, ultra-low latency (22ms), and real-time first-person view control, which proved invaluable for remote rescue operations.

Performance Highlights: Dominating the Field

The impact of the CADDXFPV integration was immediate. At the German Open preliminaries, Team Solidus dominated the field, securing first place in agility and overall performance, and punching their ticket to the international finals.

This journey culminated in a spectacular performance at the Brazil International League from July 15-21. Deploying an innovative "land-air synergy" strategy—with an FPV drone for aerial scouting and their UGV for ground-level tasks—the team masterfully navigated the course. Their skill, combined with the reliability of our technology, earned them a remarkable second-place global finish.

As the official technology partner, CADDXFPV provided more than just hardware; we delivered a mission-critical advantage:

  • Intelligent Coordination: Enabled seamless real-time collaboration between the FPV drone and the UGV, playing a key role in executing complex rescue strategies.
  • Unwavering Performance: The Walksnail Avatar system proved its stability and clarity in extreme conditions, validating its use for real-world FPV for robotics applications.
  • Immersive Control: The ultra-low latency feed made robot operation feel instinctive and precise, essential for critical rescue tasks.

A Shared Victory: Partnering for the Podium

From a fourth-place debut to a global silver medal in just one year, Team Solidus's rapid ascent is a testament to their engineering excellence and strategic innovation. Their achievement proves what's possible when a talented team is empowered by world-class technology. CADDXFPV is proud to have played a pivotal role in their journey. We will continue to support talented teams like Solidus who push the limits of what is possible. For us, this is the true purpose of innovation: creating tools that empower heroes and help save lives.
